Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 31, 2026

At WhichDay.net, accessible from our website, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use this site, how it is used, who else is involved, and what choices you have.

The short version. WhichDay.net has no accounts and no login. Everything you type into a calculator or the reminder tool is processed in your own browser and is never sent to us. We do not sell your personal information. The only data that leaves your browser is what is technically required to load the page, show your local weather, and (once enabled) display advertising.

1. Information We Collect

Information you type into our tools

Special Day Reminders: When you use our free reminder tool, the name, relationship, occasion type, date, and optional interests you enter are processed entirely in your browser to generate a Google Calendar link or a downloadable calendar (.ics) file. We do not transmit or store this information on our servers.

Calculator inputs: Figures and dates you enter into any of our financial calculators — including mortgage payment, mortgage budget, mortgage payoff, refinance, savings, savings goal, personal loan, credit-card payoff, insurance, and auto-loan tools — and into our date and time tools are processed in your browser. They are not transmitted to us and are discarded when you close or reload the page.

Device and location data

To provide accurate local weather forecasts, our system processes your IP address and approximate geographic location. Your IP address is seen by a service that returns your approximate city-level location, and your approximate coordinates are then sent to the U.S. National Weather Service to retrieve a local forecast. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not store it on our servers.

Location lookup is normally handled by our own Cloudflare Worker, which reads only the approximate location Cloudflare already attaches to the connection. If that Worker is unavailable, the site falls back to a public IP-geolocation provider (see the third-party table in Section 5).

Server and network logs

Like virtually all websites, the servers and networks that deliver this site automatically record standard technical information when a page is requested — including IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp. These logs are generated and retained by our hosting and network providers for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors.

Cookies

WhichDay.net's own tools do not require cookies to work. Cookies may be set by third-party advertising once advertising is enabled on this site — see Section 3.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited data described above to operate, maintain, and improve the site, specifically to:

3. Advertising and Cookies

WhichDay.net is supported by advertising. When advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of many third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site's tools will continue to work.

Note: at the time of writing, third-party advertising is not yet active on this site. This section describes how advertising will operate once it is enabled.

4. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless service that measures aggregate site traffic (such as page views and general trends) without using cookies, tracking individuals across sites, or storing personal information.

5. Third Parties Involved in Delivering This Site

We keep the number of third parties deliberately small. The table below lists every external service that may receive data — including your IP address — when you load a page.

ServiceWhat it doesWhat it may receive
HostingerWeb hostingIP address and standard request logs
CloudflareOur proxy Workers and cookieless analyticsIP address, approximate location, page requested
U.S. National Weather ServiceLocal forecast dataApproximate coordinates (not your IP address)
Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia)The "on this day" strip on the homepageNormally nothing — the request goes through our Cloudflare Worker. If that Worker is unavailable, your browser contacts Wikipedia directly and Wikipedia receives your IP address.
ipwho.is / geojs.ioFallback IP-geolocation, used only if our own Worker is unavailableIP address
Google AdSenseDisplay advertising (not yet active)IP address, cookie identifiers, page context

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED) interest-rate data reaches the site through our own Cloudflare Worker, so FRED does not receive your IP address.

6. Your Privacy Choices

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not sell leads. However, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, the use of third-party advertising cookies can be treated as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To opt out of that sharing:

Because we do not operate accounts and do not store personal information on our servers, we generally hold no personal data to disclose, correct, or delete. If you believe we do, you may contact us at the address above and we will respond. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

This site is aimed at a United States audience, but it is reachable worldwide. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland: where we process personal data, we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, and — for advertising and any non-essential cookies — on the basis of your consent, which will be requested through a Google-certified consent management platform before such cookies are set.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Requests can be sent to contact@whichday.net.

Everyone else

Regardless of where you live, you can decline cookies in your browser, use the advertising opt-out links in Section 3, and contact us with any privacy question at contact@whichday.net.

7. Children's Privacy

WhichDay.net is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and the UK). Because the site has no accounts and does not store what visitors type, we do not knowingly hold such information. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will act promptly.

8. Data Retention

Reminder and calculator inputs are never sent to us and exist only in your browser until you close or reload the page. Cloudflare Web Analytics data is aggregate and contains no personal identifiers. Server and network logs are retained by our hosting and network providers according to their own standard retention periods for security and troubleshooting purposes.

9. Data Security

The entire site is served over HTTPS. Because we do not operate accounts or store visitor data on our servers, there is no database of personal information to breach. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site changes — for example, when advertising is switched on. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

11. Contact Us

If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us at contact@whichday.net.
